Some visual treats for you today with the beautiful new Cavallini & Co Decorative Wrapping Paper that has just come in.  They are fantastic to use to give your home a couple of decorative touches.

I’ve already bought the Italia one for my friend who loves anything to do with Italy and put it in a clip frame for her. I’m also thinking of buying a couple to stick behind some shelves at home to make them a bit more interesting, and my partner also really wants either the world map one or the England one to hang in a frame (map-themed room, anyone?!).

Also, the new ABC Gift Wrap would be perfect for a child’s room or nursery, as would any of the maps.

Which one do you like best? I’m finding it really hard to choose…

As you have all probably heard, there’s a Royal Wedding going on next month. So, are you going to be organising/attending a street party where you live, or perhaps having a party at your house to watch it?  If so you could look at decorating it with a slightly different twist.  The Cavallini & Co postcards make perfect bunting that’s also London-themed. What’s more is that if you use some sort of masking tape, or MT Tape as I’ve done in the photos below, you can then re-use them afterwards. Placing the postcards in a frame or even leaving them on the bunting and hanging them around your home can also add a colourful touch.

Of course, you don’t have to be bothered about the Royal Wedding at all. If not, enjoy the pretty pictures!

You may not be able to tell in the photo, but that Union Flag is also glittery.  Who says you can’t add a touch of sparkle to your party?!

Obviously the Royal Wedding decorative wrap that we’ve used has got Elizabeth II and Philip on there, but if you want you could cut out and carefully stick William and Kate’s pictures on there.  Or you could just leave it.

The set of 3 pocket Notebooks are also available.  These very pretty, and beautifully designed notebooks (featuring one lined, one plain and one with squared paper) are great to carry around with you (even if you have a tiny handbag!).  Or, if you like the pictures too much to use them (as happens with me a lot!) then just leave them on your desk or office space to look at…It’s still a notebook if you just want to look at it, right?!

We think the London one might take off in a big way, but the Paris, New York, Maps and Flora & Fauna designs are just as eye-catching.

My favourite though has to be the Flora and Fauna range – I love the animal and flower stamps that you get in the Rubber Stamps as they are amazingly detailed.  The notebooks are also very pretty, and are obviously a perfect match for the rubber stamps.  If you’re less a fan of the bold, graphic images that come with the city notebooks then these are perfect for you.  The muted colours, soft lines and drawings certainly give them a whimsical element, but that is what makes them so unique.

The Cavallini 2011 diaries have arrived and are available to buy from our site from today.  Early , yes, but Cavallini diaries are new this year and are sure to be popular.  We have been stocking their full range of calendars for a number of years now and they always sell out and so there are always a few customers who miss out.  Don’t let that happen to you.

There are six different cover designs and the diaries have everything you need to keep organised throughout the year.  They’re a handy pocket size,  10cm x 15cm (4″x6″) and have a hardback cover and elastic closure band.  There’s a page for personal stuff, name, address, email, etc, monthly planner pages, pages for notes, names and addresses section and maps of the London underground, New York subway and Paris RATP system.  The diary pages are in a week to view format with a separate Saturday and Sunday rather than the usual shared space, which is handy if you have a busy weekend schedule.

The six designs are:  Keep Calm and Carry On, Flora & Fauna, World Map, Paris, Travels and Flora Bird.

We’ve seen quite a few great examples of DIY and craft projects that have used Cavallini’s gorgeous wrap to jazz up a plain piece of furniture, and we’ll be featuring many of them here on our blog over the coming months.  This wardrobe is a super example of what can be achieved with a little imagination and attention to detail.  What started out as a plain old pine wardrobe turned into quite a lovely item that would look smart in any contemporary bedroom.

Betty Bara from Manhattan Craft Room painted the wardrobe white, and added chic new handles, before fixing sheets of Cavallini’s Bird & Cage wrap in the main panels. We think it’s pretty good!

Cavallini’s range of decorative wrap lends itself to so much more than simply gift wrapping.  Phillippa Meadows of  The Old Lamp Shed makes these amazing lampshades in a range of different styles using Cavallini wrap, as well as other materials.

This particular shade uses the ever popular World Map paper and I think it would look fabulous in a home office or study.

This beautiful artist’s book has been meticulously hand-made by artist Louise Best, and is part of a limited edition. The romantic inspiration for the book came from being separated for several months from someone Louise loved.

Throughout the book, there are embellishments and typed messages of love, such as the one on the cover, which reads:

a blue sea palms,
a sunshine girl,
wrapped up in a banana leaf letter of love
from india

Louise used two stamps from the Par Avion rubber stamp set, on the cover of this book.
